Ash Wednesday

Yesterday as Ash Wednesday and our first day of giving up and taking up. Here is our bucket update….

Filling Buckets Update
Ellie filled her classmates’ buckets by helping them with multiplication facts.

Maggie said she filled my bucket, which she did, by completing her homework at aftercare.

Andrew filled an older woman’s bucket last night at the Ash Wednesday service. It had been some time since she held a baby. She loved his snuggling personality.

I hopefully helped filled a bucket by delivering a prayer shawl, made by a Second Pres congregation member, to our executive presbyter who is visiting a retired minister after kidney surgery.

Lesson for the day: Filling a bucket isn’t always direct or happens just by one person’a action, sometimes many hands and hearts contribute.
